StimulatingBroadband.com 02/16/2011 San Francisco - The nation's first comprehensive national map of broadband availability published by a federal agency will be released tomorrow, February 17.
Authorized media staff at the U.S. Department of Commerce have confirmed for this publication that the national broadband map will be released to the public during the day Thursday. Public release will follow a webcast for the media.
The launch comes two years to the day after the signing by President Obama of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) which funded the mapping effort. Responsibility and appropriations for the mapping initiative was given to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) of Commerce.
