StimulatingBroadband.com 07/02/2010 Boston - The U.S. House yesterday voted in favor of a supplemental budget proposal of the Committee on Appropriations which aims to cut $602 Million from the previously appropriated $7.2 billion broadband stimulus program within the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA).
|Rep. David R. Obey, Chairman of House Appropriations|
Should the House rescission effort be agreed to by the Senate, and signed by President Obama, the cut of $602 million will equal approximately 14% of the remaining broadband stimulus funds which have not been announced as awarded to date. This calculation includes the the $795 million in awards announced by President Obama earlier today.
