StimulatingBroadband.com 09/13/2010 San Francisco - With just over 2 weeks remaining in the legally mandated window for federal agencies to announce final awards under the $7.2 billion broadband stimulus program, awards are starting to be announced by members of congress and governors around the country this morning.
Colorado Governor Bill Ritter (D-CO) this morning announced that EAGLE-NET, an intergovernmental consortium, has been awarded a $100 million grant by BTOP program of the National Telecommunciations and Information Administration (NTIA). The project is an extensive middle mile optical fiber effort.
Connecticut Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (D-CT-03) is leading the announcement of $93.9 million project award made to her state's Information Technology Department, also by NTIA for a statewide middle mile project.
