StimulatingBroadband.com 04/01/2010 San Francisco - With today's announcement of an award for a middle mile project in the U.S. Pacific territories of Guam and the Northern Marianas, the 2 federal agencies managing the $7.2 billion broadband stimulus program have now issued 140 separate awards for grants and loans from the program.
As of this posting, 138 of those awards have been published in the federal database supporting the program at BroadbandUSA.gov. Tomorrow we will have our updated pipeline numbers for the awards, with an analysis of what the awards mean for Round II funding, and the over-under on those left in the long tail of the due diligence phase, aka Broadband Stimulus Purgatory (hat tip to broadband advocate supremo, Geoff Daily).
