Alert: Phones for Broadband Stimulus Help Desk Malfunction at Filing Deadline


Applicants on Deadline Urged to Email Agencies While Help Desk Inbound Lines Malfunction
StimulatingBroadband.com 03/26/2010 San Francisco - The 2 federal agencies administering the $7.2 billion broadband stimulus program posted the following announcement at approximately 11:45 AM (ET) today:

“We are sorry but we are experiencing issues with our phone number at 877-508- 8364.  If you are currently needing Help Desk assistance, please email us at BroadbandUSA@usda.gov including your telephone number and we will email or call you back as soon as possible.”

The technical glitch particularly impacts applicants facing filing deadlines of either today or Monday, March 29.

Applications for filing Round II funding requests for the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP), managed by the NTIA arm of the U.S. Commerce Department, have a deadline of today at 10:00 PM (ET).

Applications for filing Round II funding requests for the Broadband Initiatives Program (BIP), of the RUS division of the U.S. Department of Agriculture have until 5:00 PM (ET) on Monday, March 29 to electronically submit their grant and loan requests.
