StimulatingBroadband.com 09/28/09 The Massachusetts Broadband Institute (MBI) on September 22nd issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for General Consulting Services (No. 2010-MBI-01) to solicit responses from firms to prequalify to provide consulting services to support the goals, activities, and work products of the MBI.
According to the MBI's posted notice for the RFP, interested applicants must respond by October 20 to be considered for an award of any contract(s) responsive to the RFP.
In order to fulfill its mission, the MBI will be undertaking activities to:
1. Assess broadband penetration and access in Massachusetts.
2. Engage with stakeholders and broadband service providers.
3. Issue solicitations.
4. Develop broadband partnerships.
5. Apply for federal stimulus funds.
6. Make investments.
7. Monitor compliance and impacts of the MBI’s investments.
Companies may respond to one or more of the following categories defined in the RFP:
i. Broadband industry expertise.
ii. Information, research, and financial analysis
iii. Procurement development.
iv. Project management.
v. Community outreach and event planning.
vi. Geographic Information Systems.

Key dates for the RFP cycle are:
September 22, 2009: RFP Issued
October 2, 2009: Deadline for all questions and clarification inquiries, preferably submitted via e-mail to email@example.com
October 6, 2009: Deadline for all answers to Respondents questions.
October 20, 2009: Responses due by 3:00 p.m.
November 30, 2009: Deadline for Execution of Master Service Agreement StimulatingBroadband.com
