CTIA Press Release via StimulatingBroadband.com 09/23/09 WASHINGTON, DC – CTIA–The Wireless Association® announced yesterday that Federal Communications Chairman Julius Genachowski, will deliver a keynote address on the opening day of International CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment 2009®.
The tradeshow and conference takes place October 7-9 at the San Diego Convention Center.
Chairman Genachowski was nominated by President Barack Obama and sworn into office in June of this year. He will share his insights on the wireless market with show attendees during his keynote address on Wednesday, October 7 at 9:30 a.m.
”We look forward to hearing Chairman Genachowski’s thoughts about the industry’s considerable investments and innovations during his keynote address,” said Steve Largent, president and CEO of CTIA–The Wireless Association.
“We are confident that when he sees first-hand the thousands of attendees and hundreds of exhibitors from around the world talking about the current and potential uses of wireless products and services – in such areas as healthcare, energy and transportation – he will be both impressed and inspired by the competitively-driven wireless industry.”
Genachowski’s confirmation as FCC Chairman returns him to the agency where, from 1994 until 1997, he served as Chief Counsel to FCC Chairman Reed Hundt, and, before that, as Special Counsel to then-FCC General Counsel (later Chairman) William Kennard.
