We are unable to confirm with federal officials specifically what effect this temporary outage of the system will have on electronic applications being processed. As seen below, the text of the announcement states, "In order to complete the upgrade, we will need to take users off the system during that time period. We apologize for any inconvenience."
In brief discussions this evening, August 16, with consultants supporting clients in the processing of applications, we believe this means that in-process filings will be removed from the system, We advise filers to attempt to save their partially filed application, and log-off the system. Again, we have not been able to confirm with federal officials the specific impact of the temporary outage, and thus can only urge the most prudent approach of saving uploaded work.
