California Broadband Stimulus: CPUC Workshop & Live Video 07/10/09 Hosted by California Public Utilities (CPUC) Commissioner Rachell Chong, and California Sate Chief Information Officer Teri Takai (OCIO), today's open meeting of the CPUC gives a detailed look at the planned interrelationship between the state's broadband program and the federal broadband stimulus grant rounds.

The Open meeting and live video feed will be held: July 10, 2009; 10 am - 2:30 pm (PT).

The NTIA-RUS Application Guideline documents displayed by Commissioner Chong during her presentation, are available via our sites here. As Commissioner Chong stated, she was able to download the documents via and, given that the final federal documents have not been posted online to date.

CIO Takai and her agency personnel have been designated by
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as the lead state officials to interface with the federal broadband stimulus program. Ms. Takai last week iterated the state Administration's close monitoring of, and coordination with, the federal broadband stimulus effort. In a press statement from the Governor's Office released within hours of the issuance of federal program funding guidelines, she stated, "We are actively reviewing the guidelines and will soon announce a schedule and instructions for those interested in submitting proposals."
